CODE, Michael Lorne

(Advanced Business Interiors)

October 6, 1963 – June 28, 2026

After a short and challenging battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Mike Code on June 28, 2026, at the young age of 62. Mike leaves behind his parents Barry and Margaret-Ann Code, and Brenda Harman-Code, and his loving and supporting wife of 31 years Cathy Code (Foley). Father to Stephen and Jennifer Code (Marco), and brother to Wendy Gagnon (Mario), Gillian Godson, Jennifer Robertson, and the late George (Rugy) Godson and their families. Grandfather to Leo, Julie Michelle, and Lilith.

Special son-in-law to Donna Foley (late John), brother-in-law to Janet Tysick (late Randy) and Dennis Foley (Christine). Supportive uncle to Brianna and Alyssa Foley, Alina Tysick, and Klaudia and Kamila Bauman. Mike played an instrumental role in their lives since the time they were born, including very special summers at The Code Cottage in Norway Bay, Quebec. They learned very valuable lessons from UM.

Mike spent most of his career in trucking and at Advanced Business Interiors. He will be remembered as a dedicated employee and trusted colleague. In his spare time, Mike focused on his love of racing. He will be missed by his Luskville Dragway racing family, where he spent many years as part of the community, both locally and across Ontario and Quebec.

The community of Norway Bay, Quebec, where The Code Cottage has stood since the 1920s, will miss him dearly for all the support he gave to the community and close neighbours.

For those wishing to attend to pay their condolences, a gathering of remembrance and celebration will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Ottawa Airport, 2400 Alert Road, Ottawa ON, on Sunday, July 19, 2026 (12:00 pm – 3:00 pm) with words of memory at 1:00 pm.

Special thanks to the staff on the 6th floor at the Ottawa General Campus for all their care and support during the last month.  He appreciated everything they did for him.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the JumpStart Canadian Tire Program or May Court Hospice would be appreciated.
