Louise Christine LaRocque-Stuart – Surrounded in presence and in spirit by those who loved her, Louise died on February 19th, 2018, Family Day, at Ottawa Civic Hospital. She leaves behind her friend, husband, and unfailing supporter Shane, and is predeceased by her cherished son Oak René for whom she was an untiring advocate. Louise will be missed by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Suzanne and Mego, Judith and André, her niece Méliné and nephews Matthew (Annike) and Arran (Victoria). She taught each of us very valuable life lessons. With her marriage Louise acquired another family, the Stuarts and the Reads, whom she loved dearly and felt loved by. She was the daughter of Olier and Betty (Murray) LaRocque of Hawkesbury and grew up in that community. She spent over 20 years in Sault Ste Marie where Louise will be remembered by many friends, colleagues and former clients. She had links to a variety of advocacy organizations there but particularly to the Autism community. She will be remembered; Louise would be hard to forget. From her early years on the banks of the Ottawa river in Hawkesbury, life brought her back to that river when she and Shane moved to Pembroke in 2015. The Pembroke years were enriched by her friendships with her neighbours. A private family commemoration is planned, followed by internment at Hillside Cemetery, Front Road, Hawkesbury, overlooking the Ottawa River. Donations may be made to the Canadian Hearing Society or to Autism Ontario.
