The family announces with sorrow his passing on Monday, April 6, 2020 at the Ottawa General Hospital at the age of 85. Peter was born November 12, 1934 to the late James and Anne Kelleher in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the youngest of 9 siblings. Peter grew up, with many fondly remembered shenanigans, in Portstewart, Northern Ireland. He met his wife of 56 years, his dearest Noreen, and they shared a love that grew stronger each and every day. They moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1967 and then on to Ottawa, Ontario in 1979.

Peter will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. His kind and gentle heart smiled on all those he met. Peter is survived by his wife Noreen, his children James (Lisa), Alice, Patricia (Anthony McDermott), Peter (Jenn) and his grandchildren: Kyle, Liam, Aidan, Ryan, Erin, Serena and all his extended family in Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany, Jakarta, Ottawa, and Winnipeg.

We would like to extend our very heartfelt thanks to all the angels at the Ottawa General Hospital, in the form of Doctors, Nurses, H.C.As, P.S.Ws, Paramedics and all the home care received through Champlain LHIN for Peter during the last 8 years. The family will be having a Celebration of Peter’s Life at a later date. Peter was loved by all and he will be very sadly missed.
