Dec 11, 1949 - Dec 12, 2024
Suddenly and much too soon. Chris was a devoted husband to Brenda Quinlan, and a caring stepfather to the late Marc Paradis (Bonnie Mickle), and Mathieu Paradis (Julie Shearer). He shared a love with the Paradis family.
Chris’ five beloved grandchildren will fondly remember him: Iléana, Quinlyn, Cai, Everett, and Lincoln. They brought him immense joy and pride.
Chris also cherished his siblings: Judy Randall (late Murray), Erin Lavoie (Charlie), Kerry McCann (Joyce), and Aileen Leblanc (Denis), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will always carry his memory in their hearts.
Chris was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Connie McCann, older brother, Michael (Diane Malloy), youngest sister Faith, and his first wife Sue (née Hauser). Chris was born in Pembroke, Ontario, and grew up in the picturesque Ottawa Valley. He spent carefree summers at the family cottage in Black Bay, where his fascination with rivers flourished. The Ottawa River became a symbol of inspiration in his life.
Known for his sharp intellect and insatiable curiosity, Chris was an avid learner with a passion for research, always eager to explore new ideas and concepts. He loved to travel and quality food was one of his life’s pleasures. Chris held a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. He spent his career working at Canada Revenue Agency and was proud of his contributions.
Chris found great joy hosting family and friends. His culinary prowess and barista talents delighted those around him, as he brought flavour and warmth into gatherings. We will forever cherish his unique sense of humour and the numerous, unforgettable moments.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
Chris had established a charitable foundation in 2016 to gift funds annually, in perpetuity, to the causes that were close to his heart. In memory of Chris, donations to the Christopher David McCann Foundation Fund would be appreciated. Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can, and
