GORDON, (Aaron) David

Apr 09, 2021

Passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021 in his 98th year. Devoted son of the late Sarah and Jacob Gordon and brother and brother-in-law of the late Dina and Aaron Malkin. Beloved uncle of Mark and Joy Malkin, and David and Karen (Ceifets) Malkin and great-uncle of Alexandra, Ethan and Adam Malkin. Always independent and selfless, he was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Airforce, scientist at the experimental farms of the National Research Council, long-time member of Beth Shalom congregation, and well-versed on everything from sports to chess to the opera. His memory was sharp until the end – never forgetting a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. We will miss you Uncle Davey. Donations in his memory can be made to The National Poppy Trust Fund (legion.ca).

My condolences to Dave’s nieces and nephews. I remember David from Research Branch of Agriculture Canada, and used to see him at Beth Shalom…always with a smile. I also have fond memories of his parents. May his memory be a blessing.

He was a very fine person. Always a good word. He could be counted on for humor and a twinkle in his eye. Good memories of David. We might meet at Beth Shalom, the Rideau Bakery or see him ambling along Rideau Street. His memory also recalls fond memories of his father and mother….both fine, kind and with the family wit, humor and of course sharp intelligent minds a family trait. The memories of all are a blessing
