TOUCHETTE, Claire F.

Sep 08, 2019

On September 8, 2019, Claire completed her final journey in life.

Claire meant so much to so many people- soulmate, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, friend, and colleague.  She touched lives daily with her work at Ottawa Safe Injection Sites and Aids Committee in Ottawa with her knowledge and insight.  She was a passionate warrior fighting against the injustices in the world. Claire worked tirelessly and passionately with the marginalized and stigmatized populations. She is leaving a legacy behind and is passing the torch on to her colleagues.

Claire’s final resting place will be with her Mother in the Muskoka area- a beautiful place for a beautiful soul…

Claire’s final gift of life was given to the recipients of her kidneys, liver, lungs and heart. Five people will live because of Claire’s gifts. Thank you to Trillium for being by our side during this process.

A special Thank You to the Intensive Care Unit of the Ottawa General Hospital. The compassion and care from the doctors and nurses helped the family through this difficult time.

Thank you for the support and generosity.

leave us.  There are things

that death can not touch.”

I was saddened to learn of Claire’s passing. I had the pleasure of teaching Claire at Algonquin College. Her work at the injection site matches the student I remember. All I can say is “What a loss”. My codolences to family and friends.
