I will miss Jim’s friendship as will his circle of friends here in Ottawa and send my sympathy and deepest condolences to his family.
Jim was a creative person of varied interests and talents. Whether preparing a gourmet meal, spotting fine art treasures at flea markets, restoring antiques or building a deck, he dove into projects with enthusiasm. His depth of knowledge and level of skill always amazed and impressed; a true renaissance man.
I will miss mineral and fossil hunting with him, the day trips to the St. Lawrence region, walks to the Byward Market and his insightful and entertaining observations.
    Rest well dear friend.

Sad news. I knew Jim for many years here in Ottawa. He was very talented, creative and productive. On every visit I admired his latest project. I have good memories of antique hunting, fabric shopping, and great meals. He influenced my life and will be remembered.
