It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Linda at the age of 67 early on December 24, 2019. After a strong & positive battle Linda passed peacefully. Linda leaves behind her best friend/partner Joanne. Loving Stepdaughter Errlee (Eric) and family. Brian (April) and family. Her dear sisters Joan (Ted) Carol, Judy (David), Penny (Michael,) brother Ken and the late James Jr.(Dorothy). A loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Beloved daughter of the late James and Hazel. Linda worked all of her life as a caregiver to kids in trouble and then on to work in her retirement years at Abbotsford House helping the elderly. She will be missed by so many.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in May 2020.

I met Linda during her stay at West End Villa last year. Her friendship was very special to me and she became like my big sister . I am very sorry for your loss Joanne . You had so much love for each other. Just know that she is definitely in Heaven!
I worked with Linda when she drove our seniors, both in long term care, and then in Community at The Glebe Centre/Abbotsford House. She always had a smile and a laugh for each person, she always had a great place scoped out for our seniors! She brought joy, love and laughter to us all. She impacted everyone she worked with, she cared about people. She will be missed.
I had the great good fortune to work with Linda at Abbotsford. She brought so many talents and wonderful qualities to her work and to her relationships with her co-workers.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and such a positive attitude. What a privilege to have known and worked with her.
Auntie Linda you will be missed by all as you were special to everyone. Though we’re many miles apart you were always in our heart. To aunties Joan, Carol, Judy, Penny and uncle Ken our condolence.

If you’re lucky in your lifetime, and you get to meet a person that has no expectations and just likes you simply because you’re you. Someone that genuinely cares and will smile because somehow they just knew you needed one. Then my friend, you were blessed. Linda was this person. For those of you who met Linda, they know of her gift. I am one of the fortunate.
I was fortunate to meet Linda as her volunteer on the Bus run for the Abottsford Luncheon Club every Tuesday. She was a caring individual especially for the Seniors she was responsible for in her role as Bus Driver. I found her always with her broad smile and laugh to be willing to do that extra special thing to ensure someone would enjoy their day. She will be missed, we have all lost a Friend.

My condolences to Penny, Judy, Joan, Ken, Erin, and Joanne and family. As a good friend of Penny’s, I got to know Linda. Linda was a very warm hearted person who worked at Shawbridge house for many years with troubled teenagers who really appreciated how she understood them and got them through difficult times. There was never a day that Linda did not have a good word and big smile for everyone she met. Linda, you are no longer suffering! May you Rest In Peace !
I sadly never had the pleasure of meeting Linda . However all the positive energy here and condolences bring such warmth and greatness to her I feel and know she is now at rest and peace . Blessings , RIP .

Linda was more than a cousin.to me. She was like a big sister to.me in my younger years. We were fortunate enough to have her spend time with us while growing up. Everyone who met Linda liked her. She was fun caring and lovable. My condolences to all.

I met Linda at Abbotsford as a co-worker. Her smile and her laugh were the first things noticed, followed by her concern for friends and those she was responsible for. Driving the Abbotsford bus was much more than just ‘a job’ – she genuinely loved those around her and it showed in everything she did. She was a very good friend, she was very special – and she will be missed. RIP Linda.
The heartfelt and meaningful comments about this marvellous human-being, as expressed by her friends and kin above, indicate an irreplaceable loss to all who knew her.
As a neighbour and somewhat disabled friend, Linda was always there with unconditional help and a cheerful demeanour and, reminding me of the “Ever Ready Bunnyâ€, non-stop activity. On her occasional visit home during her convalescence, Linda in her special wheelchair, stood out as the most cheerful of the gathered friends and neighbours……remarked to me how she planned to jerry-rig her wheelchair to continue playing golf. Amazing!

Thank you Joanne for being there for Linda, every step of the way, also keeping her us, her Sibblings well informed on her in a timely manner. My deepest condolences to you Jo, you were her ROCK and comforter in so many ways, I’m so glad she had you, your family and friends to support her. I look forward to meeting you in May 2020 for the first time, big hugs and expression of my gratitude for being who you are. It was a long battle and you helped her fight through it. She couldn’t have had a better partner and friend through it all. Rest in peace dear Linda. I am blessed to be her brother, we grew up in The Point, Montreal, and laughed and often cried together, but we got through it all to become good people. Linda and I spent great times together in our adolescent and young teen years but went on our separate ways across this great country of ours. We kept in touch at family gatherings, shared a lot of belly laughs for sure. Being one of two boys in the family, you could imagine the ribbing I received having 5 sisters piling up on me. lol As siblings we were a close lot and made sure when we were together, we laughed a lot. Linda will be missed in person, but never in spirit, she suffered dearly this past year and now has found peace. She is with other loved ones and I know their all still laughing mightily. Thanks for the memories sis, you left us with many of them. Love you always.
I am so sorry for your loss Joanne! Linda was an amazing human being. So thoughtful and caring. I loved her as my friend and best neighbor ever!! We enjoyed our beers on the deck but only after our work was done!! We helped each other with “projects” and had a lot of laughs. I will miss her so very much but she is at peace now for the first time in a year. Rest in Peace Linda, we are here for Jo!
I am blessed to have known Linda through working at Abbotsford House. Linda will be remembered for her wide shining smile, her friendliness with the seniors, and her tireless helpfulness. She was a cautious driver and always put the safety of the passengers first. We have a few lovely photos of Linda at Ottawa outings chatting and smiling with the seniors. We could always count on Linda to decorate the house for Christmas. She kindly extended her helpfulness to serving seniors in the dining room for special occasions and was there on fundraising days helping with whatever was needed. Linda never let health challenges interfere with her positive attitude. She lived fully and completely her authentic life. You are missed. I am thinking of Joanne and all of Linda’s family and friends and am hoping that your memories of your friendship keep you smiling.
