Randy Calvin Bursey

Sep 15, 1963 - Oct 15, 2022

September 15, 1963 – October 15, 2022

It is with deep sadness we announce the untimely passing of Randy Bursey.

He leaves behind his spouse, Glenna Peters and daughter Paige Bursey. He was the youngest son of Patricia and Calvin (predeceased) Bursey. Randy will be sadly missed by brother David (Eleanor) Bursey, sisters Cathy (Barry) Sabourin, Lori Lovett, Terry (predeceased) (Ian) Russell, brother-in-law Ian (Debbie) Peters and nephews Aaron (Alyce), Trevor (Yuhan, Andy, Melody), Randy, Ryan, Scott, Lachlan, James and nieces Ellie (Cyle), Mikaela, Tai, Emma, Sarah, and Jessie.

Born and raised in Ottawa, he also lived for a part of his youth in Newfoundland, a province and culture he loved. His work career spanned 30 years with Hydro Ottawa. Randy’s greatest loves, besides his family, were cottage life at the lake, and his dogs Riley, Louie and Chloe. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing and exploring the wilderness. He was always there to help when you needed him, whether you were family, a friend or a stranger. He leaves a big hole in our hearts, but also so many wonderful memories. We will miss his robust laugh, animated stories and love for life.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute who provided him with such compassionate care.

Following Randy’s wishes, a scattering of his ashes will take place at his beloved cottage and in Newfoundland at a later date.

Donations in Randy’s name may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
