PARIS, Steven “Poppy” Ross

We sadly announce the passing of our beloved “Poppy”, Steven Ross Paris. Poppy, affectionately called by his Grandchildren, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday June 15, 2019 at the age of 64.

Born in New Glasgow the age of 16/17 he moved to Montreal then settled in Ottawa; where he became a skilled construction worker. Steve had a charismatic smile, a kind heart and loved his grandchildren with all his being.

He is predeceased by his Mother, Clara “Gug” Paris, Grandparents James and Ida (Jewell) Paris. Ex-wife Collen Paris (Norton), Ottawa, and widowed by Rachel Paris, Ottawa.

Survived by his cherished daughters, Stephanie Paris, and Julie Miller (Mike). Dearly loved by Grandchildren Lilly, Julia, Keenan, Zion and Aleah. Stepfather to Shawn Norton, Dawn Norton-deCotret (47 Years), Rene, “Peanut” Chenier (Tina), Travis and Tiffany. Stepgrandfather to Stephanie, Taylor, Matthew, Aaliyah, Anniyah and Jacinda. Siblings Norma Paris, Peggy Cosh, Florrie Borden, New Glasgow, Jim (Anne), Montreal, Paula Paris, New Glasgow, Candy Paris and Graham Paris, Ontario. Treasured friend Cindy Dorrington.

On Friday, June 21, 2019 from 1PM-3PM, the family will be holding a celebration of life at 500 St. Laurent Blvd, Ottawa in the backyard; Steve’s home of 28 years. Seating is limited, the family suggests bringing a chair.

Poppy’s zest for life will live forever in the hearts of his family and dear friends.

    So sorry to hear of the passing of my beloved cousin Steve. I always looked forward to our talks when he returned to New Glasgow NS. His smile and personality was second to none. He , Candace. and Tommy always made me feel so special when they came home and looked me up I will cherish these memories forever. Thank you Steve for the wonderful and funny memories you left with so many friends and family. Keeping everyone in prayer and always in my thoughts.
