Aug 01, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our cherished Mother, Eledia Papanek, on August 1, 2019, in her 92nd year. She passed away at home, surrounded by her loving daughters Camille and Katherine, son Adrian, and her caregiver and dear friend Annie Zamora. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Rudolf Papanek, she also leaves behind her son Martin Papanek and his wife Jean Feiner. Eledia was an opera singer, was trained at McGill University, and sang beautifully throughout her life. She brought music, art, literature and knowledge to all of us. The many memories of the love and support we received from the World’s Best Mother, and her exquisite voice, will stay with us always. We were blessed to have this beautiful soul in our lives. Farewell Melanka Sotvareny! A memorial Mass will be held in her honour. Thank you to Dr. Cleo Mavriplis for her years of care and support.
Dear Katharine,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother. May the happy memories sustain you during this sad time. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Katherine and Family,
We are sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you during this difficult time. A flower blooms in spring and brings such beauty to everyone. As Fall approaches the beautiful flower begins it’s transformation for winter. As is true of our lives the many transformations prepare us to be with the angels. Your mother is now in the arms of the angels. Blessings to you as you are guided through this transformation.
Dear Katherine and Adrian,
I was so sad to learn of your mother’s passing. You always spoke of her with such love and admiration and I can understand why. She was beautiful. I am so very sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences go out to you both, as well as to Camille and Martin.
Dear Adrian and Katherine,
So sorry to read of your mother’s passing. What beautiful photos of her. Losing a parent is so very hard no matter how old you are. Thinking of you.

Dearest Adrian and Katherine, wishing you strength and peace at this difficult time. Your mom was a very special lady and I fondly remember my brief visit with her at home so many years ago. Your kindness to others is just one of the many characteristics you have learned from her.
