Dec 17, 2019
Passed away surrounded by family December 17th. She will be deeply missed by her children Angela (Avery Flanagan) and David Norris. Will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Hannah and Landon Flanagan. Karen was a dear sister to Ann Pritchard (Ian), Beverly Messinger and Jeff Messinger (Gill). Karen leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Karen will be remembered by her former spouse William Norris.
As a mother, Karen provided the gift of strength to her two kids. For many years she was the sole provider and care giver to her children, and raised them with humour, grace, love, and a strong sense of right and wrong.
As a sibling, Karen was thoughtful and unendingly conscientious with her sisters and brother. Always available, and always offered support in the hard times, as well as making a point to celebrate their many successes in life, including their children, for whom she was a doting aunt, and great-aunt.
As a grandmother, Karen gave her heart and soul to her two grandchildren. Living in the same city made it so she was very much in their lives, creating memories, and sharing in their upbringing with her daughter and son-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at The Good Shepherd Parish, 3092 Innes Road, Orleans, ON, on Saturday, December 21st, at 11am.
She was loved by us all, and will be dearly missed.

Karen was an amazing person. I will miss here dearly.
I will remember Karen very fondly and work much love. I met and worked with her at the Jazz Festival, and spent much time with her outside of work. She always made me laugh and was so wise, and always had great life advice to provide and help out. I looked up to her, had fun with her, respected her and her honesty and way she lived her life. I know she’ll be looking down on her family and helping you all along the way… Know that she is always there, just not physically. Xo
Our deepest condolences to you Angela and family.
God Bless.
Pat and Margaret
I knew Karen as a child. I remember how we used to laugh hysterically together with her older sister Ann, my best friend in grade 2. I’m so sorry she is gone forever. Deepest condolences to her beloved siblings and family.

I’ll miss you so much Aunt Karen. So glad we got to reconnect more over the last few years. Good thing you were such an avid traveler and made it out west frequently as well as seeing so much of the world on your journeys. You were brutally honest to the core and I admired that about you.
Especially sympathetic to my Mom and Aunt Ann and Uncle Jeff for the loss of a sibling and confidante and to Angela and David – words just cant express
Love you all and sorry I couldnt be there in person to share in the stories and memories and celebration of Karen’s life
I will always remember Karen as one of the funniest people I have ever met. Karen is my husbands aunt and I have had the pleasure of attending many weddings, barbecues and family visits with her. Karen had a strong presence, she was a force of nature and I loved her for it. I am sorry that I will not be there in person to celebrate her life with those who loved her. I will remember her often.
