Jul 10, 1933 - Mar 27, 2026
Milton passed away peacefully in his 93rd year, surrounded by family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 70 years, Gisele (nee St Pierre). The very proud father of five children: Diane (Peter Andrews), Marie (Dave Fleming), Linda, Marc (Kim), Michele (James Laing).
He adored and was much loved by his 8 grandchildren. He was their biggest fan at all their sporting events: Natalie (Kris Wright), Chantal Andrews (Johnny), James Seabrook (Jennay Oliver) Kelowna BC, Danielle Seabrook (Ryan Fisher), Adam Welcher (Gabrielle Castonguay), Jennifer Welcher (Darragh Hamilton), Alexander and Cameron Laing. He was also blessed with 9 great-grand-children.
He is survived by his sister Joan (late Will Dornan) and their children Allan & Susan – Vaudreuil-Dorion QC, his niece Debbie Welcher (Terry Martin) New Brunswick, and his cousin Heather Umalus (Mait) Chilliwack BC.
Milton was born in Montreal and moved to Ottawa to pursue his career in the pulp & paper industry. He became co-owner of James Ross Ltd. in Brockville. Gisele & Milton built their dream home in Kemptville in 1981- surrounded by wonderful neighbours. As an athlete he often reminded us of his track records and basketball refereeing accomplishments. He was an avid reader, loved his golf outings, boating on the St Lawrence and his wood working projects. He always said, “I’ve had a wonderful life”.
Thank you to the Kemptville District Hospital’s Dr. Wanes and the nursing and support staff in the Med/Surge Unit who offered kind and compassionate care.
Donations in his memory to the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
In keeping with Milton’s wishes, a private family celebration will be held.
