Michel Collette

Mar 25, 1965 - Jan 05, 2023

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Michel Collette on Thursday, January 5th, 2023, at the age of 57. Michel is survived by his wife Marie-Violaine (née Bareau) and son Jérémie. He is also survived by his parents (Raymond and Claire Collette), his sister (Louise Collette), and extended family and friends.

Michel was known as a big adventurer and enjoyed the outdoors. He was never one to avoid interesting challenges in work, hobbies or sports.

The family is grateful for all the amazing healthcare professionals who cared so well for Michel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY, an organization Michel felt strongly about.

My condolences to Violaine and family. I am missing Michel, a long time friend with the greatest sense of humor. I’ve been thinking of Michel quite a bit, I’d say every day, and what shines through is his amazing mental strength through all. I’ll definitely be visiting the Michel Collette bench near Shilly Shally on a regular basis in remembrance. I spent many hours in the Park with Michel, especially while competing on the mountain bike race circuit. He definitely had the most amazing stamina; I could hardly keep up with him! Michel, you are missed. Best of all to the family.

    Dear Violaine and family,

It it with a heavy heart that I learned of Michel’s passing. Although we have been separated by time and distance I have often thought of you and Michel and am heartbroken by this news. I wish you all my love and compassion in this time of sorrow.

    Sincerely, Allan.
