Michael Gassien passed away in Ottawa, Ontario, on Friday, June 12, 2026.
To those who knew Mike at his best, he was a man who lived to bring laughter into a room. He possessed a sharp wit and a personality that could fill any space, always finding a way to crack a joke or lift the mood when those around him needed it most. He was a man of real, unfiltered character who left his mark on this world.
The truest part of Mike’s story was always his children. He always said that the absolute best thing he ever did in his life was become a father. His pride in his kids was fierce and unwavering.
Mike is survived by his four children, Aiden, Gwynevere, Maverik, and Korbin, and their mother, Tiffany Smiley. They will carry the very best parts of his humour, his laughter, and his love in their hearts forever.
He is survived by his parents, John Albert Gassien and Elizabeth Gassien, as well as his siblings, Barry Allen, Molly Allen, Cathy Gassien, and Chuck Gassien.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of First Memorial Funeral Services in Ottawa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
