My Dear Mom, Florence Aleta Grierson (Miller) moved peacefully into her eternal Heavenly home this morning (January 28, 2021) at about 2:30. She was a great Mom and is missed, and loved so much by so many people. She was raised on a large farm with 5 sisters having to work like men to help her parents and keep it running. She studied and became a schoolteacher, even teaching in the country in a one room schoolhouse educating her younger Sister and cousins. She went on to Bible School, married a preacher and moved to the USA. As a preacher’s wife, she played the piano, led the singing, did the books, and kept the Churches running. She also wrote and taught many children’s programs. She became an ordained Minister herself and launched Christian children’s ministries all over the world. Her work took her all over and she was a tireless missionary to places in Africa, Haiti, Amazon jungles, most south American countries, and Outer Mongolia just to name a few. I remember as a boy they would carry me along to these far flung reaches of the world. Her along with my Father and I travelled all over the USA holding tent meetings with Oral Roberts Ministries. Besides evangelism, they had a passion for healing ministry, always praying and comforting the sick and infirmed. She was an avid reader and loved her Bible and sharing God’s word. Those of you that know her will agree she was always elegant and well put together in her appearance, classy in her demeanor with never a cross word, and was always encouraging. She truly lived by example and was the standard of a fine Christian lady. Mom, I know you will enjoy the streets of Gold, happiness and love and light for the rest of eternity. I love you and miss you already!
Condolences from Pastor Pauline and the seniors ministry at Bethel Pentecostal church. The last conversation I had with Florence when I visited at Long Fields Manor, she was very coherent to my surprise. and she spoke of her sisters and her words were ” They’re waiting up there for me you know” Now she celebrates with them. She has finally rested from her labor and her good works follows her. Until we meet again Florence.
Florence was a wonderful big sister to me. She was always elegant and loving and loved her family and her God with all her heart. We certainly will miss our visits with her but will have one grand reunion when we all reach our Eternal Home.
