MARTIN, Agnes (Robbie)

May 18, 1938 - May 08, 2020

Agnes (Robbie) Martin, age 81 passed away on May 8, due to complications from dementia.

She was born May 18, 1938 in St. John’s, NL to Jack and Kay Robson. In 1960, she married her best friend and forever love James Joseph Martin.

Robbie loved people. She lived a wonderful and happy life finding the good in everyone she met. She adored her two girls and embraced every moment she had with them. She loved her role as Grandma and was never happier than having her two granddaughters close.

Her personality was such that she made friends everywhere she went. But Jim was her soul mate and together they shared 59 years of love and adventures.

Until 3 years ago, she was still spending her winters in Florida, golfing, swimming and spending good times with friends. She faced her illness with such grace and courage, we should all be so brave.

Robbie is survived by her adored husband Jim, daughters Karen (Dave) and Jody (Chris), two granddaughters Katie (Matthew) and Laura. She is also survived by her sister, Carmel.

A private celebration of life will be held for Robbie. Our family’ s heartfelt thanks to the 5th floor staff of the Forest Hills Nursing Home in Ottawa for their warmth and compassion.

“I’ll give you a daisy a day dear

I’ll give you a daisy a day

I’ll love you until the river runs still

And the four winds we know blow away.”

Aggie – I remember all the wonderful times we had as kids, all the beautiful talks we had over the years, and the constant being there for each other. You were my one and only sister, and “sisters are forever!” Aggie – now that you are in Heaven, give my only son and your nephew, Brad, a big hug for me. Brad and you are together again! Rest in peace my dearest sister. I will always love you.

Karen, my warmest thoughts and prayers go out to you, Your Dad and Jody. I remember your Mom well as our days on Birch Street growing up were so much more fun with your Mom. She was a sweet lady always with a smile and a cookie for me when I knocked on your door so we could play. A heart of gold and always so very kind. God speed Mrs. Martin – I will remember you with love and lots of beautiful memories. Rest In Peace. 🎈😘❤️🌷
