Suzanne Marleau (nee Labute), Nurse
April 14, 1939 – December 31, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Suzanne Marleau (nee Labute) , beloved wife of Denis Marleau (predeceased) and loving mother to Susan McIntyre (Jim). Proud and loving grandmother to Erin and Douglas McIntyre. They were so loved by her, and they miss her dearly. Suzanne is survived by her loving brother Jean Paul Labute (late Sonya). Parents Cecile and Alphonse Labute (predeceased). Many cousins she still had contact with. Aunt to two nieces; Annie Labute (predeceased) and Denise Frimer, as well as three nephews; Danny, Gregory, and Paul Labute. Will be missed by sisters-in-law Gisele Frimer (late Steve) and Claire Marleau.
Suzanne worked at Fairview Manor in Almonte until she retired in 2000. She remained in touch with her colleagues from the Manor and have been a great support to her during her retirement. She truly enjoyed the lunches they had together and talking about old times with the retiree group of Fairview Manor.
Suzanne was such a kind and beautiful soul and will be missed by all that loved her. Special thanks to Karen and Norma who checked on her daily and all of her wonderful neighbours. The family would like to thank the staff at the Almonte General Hospital and First Memorial Funeral Services.
Suzanne was cremated and the family had a private ceremony as per Suzanne’s wishes.
Susie and John Paul were not only cousins but mentors. Susie would throw rocks at our upstairs bedroom window to take us fishing when we were around 10 years old. They took the time to teach us card games and kept us occupied playing sports. I will miss my weekly telephone conversations. Susie was a wonderful person. Heaven has another angel. P.S. (We also miss Denis’ one-liners.) Love Wayne & Carolyn
My sincere sympathies to Suzanne’s family, we worked back in the day together ,when work didn’t seem like hard work, I will recall her laugh, it was amazing to hear it, you knew you hit a funny bone ..lol
I was also happy to see her at our latest luncheon in the fall, and got caught up a bit about what’s going on after many years apart..you will be missed by many Suzanne, but I know your up there with your husband catching up with him..rest easy!!!
Such sad news. I worked for Sue at Fairview Manor as a PSW and I remember she always had a smile. Very nice lady and great nurse
Susie was my first cousin and we were very close as children as well as during her young adult years. I was her junior bridesmaid when she married her wonderful Denis. We re-connected in our senior years and enjoyed both visits and phone calls. She will be missed deeply. Love, Elaine and Gerry Marentette.
