Lavergne, Darlene

Jun 10, 1953 - Aug 29, 2023

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my mother Darlene Lavergne, age 70 of Ottawa, Ontario. Darlene took her last breath in the early hours of August 29th, 2023. She was extremely strong and brave, enduring a long and very difficult battle with a second occurrence of breast cancer. She is now finally at peace and will be forever loved and remembered. Darlene is survived by her son Justin, grand-nephew Adam,  grand-niece Darla, as well as an abundance of her loving friends. She was predeceased by her sister Debbie, niece Cheryl, nephew Shawn, grand-nephew Vinnie, and her ex-spouse my father Robert.  We will miss her more than words can express. No funeral services will take place as she requested, but I do appreciate your love and support during this difficult time. Her celebration of life will be announced privately.

Justin, we are very saddened to know that your mother passed away, she will be remembered for her kindness . I, Teresa, worked with your mother many years ago at The Auditor General’s Office and at The city of Ottawa. She struggled with her health issues for a very long time and was a very strong woman. Andre and I also knew you and your mom when you were a child and played hockey in Blackburn Hamlet. May Darlene rest in peace.

I was devastated to hear of Darlene‘s passing, and still am. I think of her with tears and a smile.. 10 years ago we became Facebook friends over a common interest , and have remained friends until her passing. We marveled at our similarities, and the fact that we were both Geminis, who were born so close together in June. She loves life and her family and especially her son Justine and her sister who she missed. I’d like to think they are both together now making up for lost time. I’m so grateful for our friendship, and she will never be forgotten.
