In Loving Memory of Gilbert Mitchell

Gilbert Mitchell 70, from Saint-Regis, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, May 9. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, deep family bonds, and enduring love.

 A hardworking man throughout his life, Gilbert worked as both an iron worker and carpenter in his younger years. He was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and willingness to provide for those he loved. Outside of work, Gilbert had a lifelong passion for fishing. He was an avid fisherman who found peace and happiness on the water, and many treasured memories were made through the countless hours he spent fishing with family and friends.

 Gilbert was the beloved husband of Catherine Mitchell, his devoted partner since July 1978. Together, they built a strong and loving family that remained at the center of his life. Gilbert will be deeply missed by his sons Brian, Landon (Dani), Lance (Danielle), Lucas, and Lars (Leah).

 He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Grace Mitchell, whom he loved and missed dearly. He is survived by his siblings Freddie, Madeline, Nancy, Rita, Elizabeth, Emily, and MaryAnn. He reunites with his siblings Simon, Phillip, Tommy, Herbie, William, Andrew, Bernie, John, Helen, and Suzanne in the sky world.

 He will be lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren; Raylynn, Lila, LJ, Tori, Ethan, Annika, Jaden, Kierstyn, Carsten, Brooklyn, Bentley, Jaxsen, Brayden, Maddison, Mariah, Carter, Malani, Myles, Mable, Mavi, Mayla, Hayley, Braydyn and JadeLynne, as well as his great grandchildren Cherish, MaeveLynne, Iris, Adam and Peyton, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

 He will also be fondly remembered by numerous friends and many extended family members, including his kind nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins and his godchildren; Lindsay, Marion, Tory and Mason whose lives he touched through his kindness, strength, and generosity.

 Gilbert’s family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
