Oct 11, 2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Benoit Harrison in Ottawa on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the age of 83.
Loving husband of 58 years to Patricia Harrison, and devoted father to Tommy (deceased), Barry (Brenda), Blane, Randy (Joanne), Rory, Angela (Derek) and Andrea (Victor). Much loved Grandfather to Brock, Cole, Christopher, Taylor, Jillian, Ava, Garrett, Lindsay, Shannon, Erik, Ian, Taisha, Greg, Jonathan and numerous great grandchildren. He is predeceased by parents Samuel Harrison and Irene Latulippe. Beloved brother to Rita and Denis Harrison. Predeceased by brothers Donald, Leo, Albert, Fred, Gerald, Edward, and Arthur.
John will be remembered for his service in the RCAF, successful career in insurance (Transamerica Life and Budget Brokers Limited), former President of the House of Hope, but most especially his deep love, wisdom, kindness and devotion to his family. He instilled the importance of always doing what is right and true.
You can honour John by donating to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
To Patricia, Angela, Andrea, Randy, Rory, Barry and Blane my heart and prayers are with you at this time of loss. John was very kind and generous to me as a young man visiting your home and your cottage. He laughed at our teenage pranks and made feel welcome. As an adult he gave me business and trusted me to do my best work for him. These are gifts I cherish as a memory of John Harrison
Dear Angela and Andrea,
Sorry to hear of your loss, I understand the pain of losing a close parent. My heart goes out to you all.
Terri
A quote from Reverend Billy Graham
“Jesus speaks to our grieving hearts words of comfort, like any child longs to hear when his parents are leaving him. What does a child say when you go away? The child says, ‘Where are you going? Can I go with you? Who is going to stay with me?’
“Jesus called his disciples ‘children, ’ and in death’s presence, we are all children. Death comes to us all and we need the hope of which Jesus speaks: ‘In my Father’s house are many mansions.’ … Here we are as pilgrims, living in a frail, flimsy house, subject to disease, pain and peril. But at death, we exchange this crumbling, disintegrating tent for a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
May the peace of Christ be with your family during this difficult time.
Dear Andrea,
Please accept my sincere condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, to brave this difficult times!

Renuka
