Mar 27, 1920 - Oct 27, 2013

Today a bright light in our lives went out as our mum; Louisa Flinter went to be with the Lord. Louisa (Lucy) Flinter was born March 27, 1920 in Aberdeen Scotland and passed away October 27, 2013. She was pre-deceased by her husband James Flinter, parents William (Bain) Glennie, Margaret (Ross) Glennie, and her brothers William, Charles, Thomas and Alexander (Sandy). Louisa leaves behind her children Margaret (Ron) Whatley, Charlotte (Lloyd) Greer, Louise (Tom) Madden and Jim (Kathleen) Flinter. Also left to mourn her loss are her grandchildren Lisa, Mike, Carrie, Lloyd, Sean, Erin, Heather, Ian, Jeremy, Megan and Michelle, as well as her great-grandchildren Kristine, Emily, Andrew, Amy, Melissa, Nathan, Jackson, Andrew, Nora and Maxwell. She also leaves behind her nephew Charles (Lorna) Glennie, Ottawa and nieces Vicky (Les) Munro and Sandra Glennie of Scotland. Our Mother’s greatest wish was to remain in her home until the end and this never would have been possible without the resources provided by the CCAC and the compassionate staff of Personal Choice Independent Living, particularly Liney Jones, and his angels Chantal, Esther and Marjorie, without whom her greatest wish would never have been fulfilled. We would also like to extend a special thank you to mum’s family doctor Byron W.G Lemmex, M.D who attended and made it possible for mum to remain at home, surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

Charity of your choice

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no tears in a gloom filled room

Why cry for a soul set free

Miss me a little, but not too long

And not with your head bowed low

Remember the love that we once shared

Miss me, but let me go

For this is a journey we all must take

And each one must go alone

It is all part of nature’s road

A step on the road to home

When you are lonely and sick at heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds

Miss me, But let me go.
