Dianna Jane Fairservice (Bowes)

Aug 02, 1946 - May 02, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dianna Jane Fairservice (Bowes) a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully on May 2nd, 2024. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she left this world.

She leaves behind her children: Marka Barron (Bowes) and Meagan Alexander (Kirk Alexander) along with their families. Her grandson Aidan Barron as well as granddaughters Kyla and Averie Alexander, will miss her dearly.

She’s also survived by her siblings: Larry Fairservice (Jeanette), Garey Fairservice (Joan), Betty Holmes (Albert), and Joyce Fairservice (Mackenzie). She was predeceased by her brothers Donald Fairservice (JoAnn) and Kenny Fairservice (Barbara). She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Dianna had a lifelong friend in Patsy Raymond, who meant the world to her. Their enduring friendship was a source of strength and comfort until the very end.

Dianna loved life and enjoyed spending time at her cottage, coloring, playing bingo, camping, and hunting for treasures at thrift stores. She adored road trips and picnics, but her greatest joy came from the moments she shared with her grandchildren, each of whom held a unique place in her heart. She had a soft spot for Buicks, Owls, and Samoyeds, and found joy in their presence.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Alicia Rozenkrantz, Dianna’s dedicated family physician for four decades, and to the compassionate medical team at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre, including Dr. Wheatley-Price and Dr. Cook. The exceptional care provided by the nurses and staff at the Ottawa Hospital, Cancer Centre, as well as the attentive support from the caregivers at Stoneridge Manor:  Amber, Krystle, Vijay, Nicole, Stacey, Wendy, Patience, Sarah, Robin, Divine, Jessica, Jennifer, Sheri, Megan and Janeane. The family also wishes to thank Clara Dumontier from the LHIN and Kristina from Bayshore home healthcare for their exceptional care.

A service to honor and celebrate Dianna’s life will be held at St. Andrews United Church, 2677 8th Line Road, Metcalfe, ON, on May 12th, 2024, from 1PM to 3PM. Following the service, guests are invited to join the family for refreshments as they reminisce and share fond memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ottawa Hospital, or a charity of your choice, in honor of Dianna’s memory.

Though Dianna has left us, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

(I’m the pink haired nurse) Just wanted to give my condolences to your family- I just found out today and wanted to let you know how much the short time working with you meant to me. Every resident I get the privilege to care for stays with me forever, but having the opportunity to spend time with Diana and Meaghan was particularly special. Both of you are so kind and hilarious and i think about you all the time. I am heartbroken I didn’t get to say goodbye, and I wish you all all the peace and joy in the world.
