BARRON, Stephen

Jan 19, 1963 - Oct 01, 2021

Suddenly, following a brief illness, on Friday October 1st, 2021, Steve Barron passed away surrounded by family at the age of 58.

Much loved and devoted husband to his soul mate Lyse Bedard. Cherished and adored father to Kathryne (Jason) and Sara (Jacob). Beloved brother of Janet Proulx (nee Barron) and Pattie Barron (Reed Bouer). Loving son of Gerard and Evelyn Barron (deceased). Son-in-law of Yvan and Sheila Bedard. Brother-in-law to Danielle Kaleta (Andy), Nicole Bedard, and Ray Bedard (Carole). He will also be eternally remembered by his loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and countless friends.

Steve was born on January 19th, 1963 to Gerald and Evelyn Barron. He started his career at Telesat Canada, and then worked at Creative Hands (the Phoenix). Creative Hands was the place where Steve fell in love with crafting, and decided to branch off to his own carpentry career. Over the years, he has touched many homes and was especially known for his artistic eye.

A modest and gentle soul, Steve could always be found crafting beautiful home renovations for family and friends, often out of the genuine goodness of his heart. Steve displayed how talented, creative and hardworking he was in his everyday work. He truly was a Jack of all trades.

Steve was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Kathryne, Sara, and Lyse and always tried his best to support them.

His daughters will miss the everyday smile and laughter that Steve brought. From movie nights with endless sweets, singing classic rock on the car rides home, quizzing their knowledge on the bands and music he grew up listening, and the simple and valued “how was your day” conversations over a cup of tea. Steve brought comfort everyday to his daughters as they knew they could always rely on him for anything and he was always there to talk if needed.

His wife will deeply miss the nights spent sitting around the fire or down at the lake enjoying drinks and talking about everyday life. As well as the days spent indoors playing backgammon and crazy eights. In addition to his greatest love of spending time with his family, Steve also enjoyed riding motorcycles, keeping busy down at the garage, listening to classic rock and the frequent visits over coffee with some of his greatest friends.

Steve was a loyal and valued friend, he was always there for those he loved, even when distance was an obstacle, he would plan trips to visit and help with any needs.

Steve’s smile, patience and commitment to helping others will always be remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6th, 2021 at the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 632) located at 800 Taylor Creek Drive in Orleans, ON between 1:00pm – 6:00pm. This will be an opportunity for Steve’s family and friends to gather, share a story, raise a glass in his honour throughout the course of the afternoon. Given the ongoing Covid 19 restrictions, this flexible and informal timing will allow everyone who wishes to visit Steve’s family an occasion to do so in a free flowing manner.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Steve’s memory to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
