Margaret Watt passed away peacefully at the Kemptville District Hospital on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at age 93. Margaret was born December 5,1931 in Shotts, Lanark, Scotland. Margaret immigrated from Scotland to Ottawa, Canada in 1953. Margaret started her career in a Lawyers Office before settling into the Federal Government for 28 years at the National Parole Board.

Margaret is survived by her children Lynn (Michael) Hinton and Robert (Anne) Watt. Margaret is also survived by her grandchildren Sean Hinton, Christopher (Jennifer) Hinton, Matthew (Cierra) Hinton and Rebecca Watt and her great grandchildren Dylan, Wyatt and Kylie. She is preceded in death by her late spouse John Watt.

Our mother was a beacon of strength and warmth for her family always putting their needs first. Margaret was very good at remembering every birthday, anniversary and important dates in her families lives. Margaret loved the family bbqs, dinners, and gatherings for the holidays. Upon retiring Margaret travelled many times back to her homeland Scotland to visit family. She was also a world traveller, visiting many different cities and countries. She was an avid reader of mysteries, romance and biographies. She enjoyed long walks around her beautiful city of Ottawa where she called home.
