It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marc Eugene Parent, who departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his father Eugène and his mother Rita.

Born in Ottawa and educated as a civil engineer, Marc built a life marked by integrity, diligence, and a deep compassion for others. He was an extremely hard worker, and worked for over four decades as a dedicated home inspector, earning the trust of countless families and helping them find comfort and safety in their homes. His keen eye, honest assessments, and matter-of-fact personality made him admired not just by clients but by colleagues and friends alike.

Beyond his professional life, Marc was known for his quiet wisdom, his quirky sense of humor, and his unwavering support for his family. He was a loving partner to Christine Joiner and Inga Boone, a devoted father to his children, Tanya (Andy), Eric, and Brigitte (Ed), and a loyal sibling to Marie “Mimi” (Francois), Benoit (Sylvie), Lyne (Claudio), Yves (Jayanti “Jay”), and the late Pierre (Claire), Marcel, and Stéphane (Jennifer). Whether working on his next renovation project at his beloved house in Luskville or cottage at Cayamant, tending his garden, or debating history and politics over a cup of coffee or glass of wine, he left an impression of enthusiasm and passion in all he did.

Marc faced his illness with grace, resilience, and positivity, never losing the spark that made him who he was. His presence will be missed deeply but his memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
