Norman Douglas Reid (Norm) passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by family, on April 16, 2026 –\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>just shy of his 85th birthday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Norm was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 638 in Kanata. He found great joy in time spent at the cottage, on the water in his kayak, expressing his creativity through art, and in the companionship of his beloved dogs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Elizabeth (Betty, n\u00e9e Deardorff) Reid, and his brother Tom (Grace). He is reunited with his beloved wife of 32 years, Patti (n\u00e9e Hickey), and their son Christopher.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Norm is survived by sons Kevin (Rupa) and Michael (Christine), daughter Erin (Dave O\u2019Sullivan), and daughter-in-law Katie Lillie; his grandchildren Hailey, Cooper, Jackson, Madison, Zachary, Drew and Brianne; his great-grandchildren Zain, Alia, Nasir, and Olivia; and his siblings John (Suzanne), Mike (Jill), and Judy (Chris Purdy). He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews, in-laws, friends, and real estate colleagues.<\/span><\/p>\n

The family extends their warmest thanks to Oba O. and the wonderful staff at Bayshore Home Health for your care and companionship over the years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

To the staff on 5 North East at The Ottawa Hospital General campus and Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, we are especially grateful for the kindness and compassion you showed Norm and his loved ones in his final days.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. Isidore Roman Catholic Parish, 1135 March Road in Kanata. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n
