VAN DER HORN, Wendy Janet \u2013 Passed away after a long battle with cancer and her loving family by her side on December 18th, 2015 at the age of 58.\u00a0 She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Tim and son Tiemen.\u00a0 Sadly missed by her sisters Sandra (Rory), Nancy (Ron) Ferguson and Peggy (Bill) Dobson.\u00a0 Predeceased by her parents Robert and Grace Thompson.\u00a0 Cherished forever by many nieces and nephews.\u00a0 The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Kate Cox, Angela and Shawn Traversy for all of their love and support over the years.\u00a0 The generosity and support of Shirley Reddick and Wendy Wilton will not be forgotten.\u00a0 Tim would like to thank Tiemen\u2019s School (Frederick Banting Secondary Program) for all of their compassion and comfort for Tiemen, while his mother battled her illness.\u00a0 Wendy was a strong believer in prayer, and her faith was something she held onto tightly throughout her battle, the Ottawa Church of God and all of Wendy\u2019s friends and family meant a great deal to the entire Van der Horn family.\u00a0 Lastly, the family would like to thank all of the staff and members of St. Andrew\u2019s Church for their prayers and support.\u00a0 A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 7th, 2016 at 2pm at the Ottawa Church of God on 1820 Carling Ave, Ottawa, ON.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n
